This tutorial contains some tips on how to book Tatkal tickets quickly.
Pre-requisites:
- Fast internet connectivity
- A working laptop
- A smartphone which can do a UPI scan
Steps:
- Login to IRCTC at 09:50 AM IST(for AC tickets) || 10:50 AM(for non-AC tickets).
- Put the source and destination and proceed with the train of your requirement.
- Keep the category as "General" not "Tatkal".
- Fill in the passenger details and click on the "Home" icon to go to the homepage of IRCTC.
- DO NOT CLICK ON "LOG OUT".
- After that keep the category as "Tatkal" and proceed.
- Please refer to the video below for clarity.
- IRCTC times out if there is no activity on the website for 5 mins. Please make sure not to keep IRCTC idle for a long time.
- Open India Standard Time – IST Time Zone
- Wait for 09:59:55 (for AC tickets) || 10:59:55 (for non-AC tickets) and at the 55th second click on the ticket to load and proceed with the booking.
- We have already filled in the name, age and preference. This time it will remain filled already.
- Please make sure to choose the UPI option for faster payments.
